Atrium Skylight

The Adult Learning Centre’s atrium has a single skylight, positioned above the centralised feature staircase, allowing sunlight to penetrate deep within the atriums space. Further to making the space more light, the positioning is meant to heighten the experience of the Adult Learning Centre, projecting light onto users as they make the ascent to other learning spaces.

The triangular shape is resonant of the roofs pitches, and was influenced by several existing precedencies, such as the Metallic polygonal roof tops La Madeleine library, Tank Architectes, and the ABC Museum, Illustration and Design Center, Aranguren & Gallegos Architects (left to right).
