As part of the design process I explored material choices. In preliminary design charrettes and photomontages I had depicted forms primarily composed of brick, however, I had a limited knowledge of its capabilities and the variety available. Therefore, in order to justify my use of material my peer Florence and myself walked through central Manchester, documenting the use of brick in the city. From this experience we created a small booklet, compiling all the information we had amassed, alongside further research into the use of brick.
Why Use Brick?
