The map and key identify the surrounding context of the Adult Learning Centre, outlining areas, places and routes that have the most influence upon the design. In particular regard to circulatory paths, I have identified the most important transportation and walking routes, which need to be maintained to support access of the site.

            Further to this, I have explored the relationship between this centre and other existing and proposed schemes. For example, the Adult Learning Centre is below a primary school, and situated above another peers proposal for an Anarchist Free School. For the centre to be of success it should engage with both these educational institutions, inspiring the public to learn, and presenting it as a viable option at every stage of life.
